LED home lighting can be divided into two aspects, one is replacing the traditional 40W/60W incandescent/fluorescent light bulbs, in respect of this aspect, the main demands that consumers think about are price and energy saving effect, the other one is new design of LED lamps, such as the patio lights of the living room, desk lamps, etc., which centers on the intelligent control and adjust of the color temperature.

With regard to the price and energy saving requirements about substitutional illuminant LED bulb light serie 40W/60W, LED power driver IC vendors are attempting various ways to meet customer needs. High efficiency can significantly improve the LED bulbs' energy saving effect and save electricity cost. As for LED bulbs system cost, improvement of power efficiency can save money on cooling cost and dramatically reducing system cost.

In the second place, the simplify of peripheral circuit components can also save cost of the power modules and reduce the modules's area to increase the design flexibility of the configuration of the LED light source and radiator. In view of the light dimmer and intelligent control which new design of LED lamps focus on, household light bulb should be able to have wall-mounted dimmer knob. The compatibility of applied circuit to the existing system should be considered.

At present, LED lighting has various driving product line like AC to DC and DC to DC etc. The intensive technology focuses on high conversion efficiency, high power factor, safety and compatibility, support for dimmable and so on. For dimming, the application of dimming technology can enhance the competitiveness of products. Therefore we’re now developing new light dimming functions.

In a word, if LED lighting wanna enter the family, reducing costs is the key. But how to make it will rely on new technology.
