When Edison invented the incandescent lamp 130 years ago, he would never expect this great invention would be "forbad" one day. There is still one month that the “ban” come into force. However, in the market of Chinese lighting market there’s hardly any place for high power incandescent lights.

Sale of incandescent lamp be halt

According to "China phasing out incandescent roadmap", refer to essay "China Phase Out of Incandescent Light Bulbs" to get more information. China will ban the import and sale of general lighting incandescent lamps at 60 watts and above from 1st, October this year. And from 1st, October 2016 on will incandescent lamps at 15 watts and above be prohibited, which means that low efficient, energy cost, short life-span incandescent lamp will withdraw from the stage step by step.

A staff of Philips lighting distribution said high power incandescent lamps had been banned since two years ago and no one will buy that at present. Currently are energy saving CFL and LED lights mainly for sale on the market. Although incandescent lamp is very cheap and costs RMB 2 to 3 yuan, but it costs too much in electricity and is easily went wrong. The sailing price of CFL is around RMB 10 or more and LED light sales at 20 or 30 yuan.

Compared with CFL and LED light, incandescent lamp is cheaper at price. But under the same illumination intensity, namely the same lumen, the power of incandescent lamp is 60W, while CFL is only 12W and LED light only 5W. That really reduces the electricity bill.

Although in the physical stores are high power incandescent lamps rarely sold, there’s still a large amount on sale online. Some online-stores even sell 500-watt bulb. Most of them are wholesale and the prices range from several yuan to dozens of yuan. Some unique styling incandescent lamps feature a retro or artistic design or style, mainly used for home, bars, shops decoration.

LED light will be mainstream

Compared with incandescent lamp, CFL is energy saving and saves power at a rate of 80% or above, while the life span is several times of incandescent lamps. In addition, its shape is no longer restricted to "bulb" shape, but straight tube, U-shaped, spiral type etc.

CFL lamp is relatively slow in lighting up and cannot be frequently turned on/off as an incandescent lamp. The energy saving effect of CFL lamp is quite obvious. However, one of the significant defects of CFL lamp is that it contains mercury thus not environmentally friendly. In improper recycling process it will cause much environmental pollution. It is reported that a CFL lamp can pollute 90 to 180 tons groundwater and soil.

Due to pollution problems of CFL and its shorter life-span than LED, some experts said that the lighting bulb in the future will be occupied by LED bulb, although their market shares are almost the same at present. The life span of traditional incandescent lamp is around 8000 hours while the life of high quality LED can reach 50000 hours without replacement.

Currently, the selling price of LED lamp is almost 2 to 3 times that of CFL lamp under the same lumens. But more and more consumers not only take the price into account, but will also consider the illuminating effect, life-span, environmental protection and so on. That is why LED will be a mainstream in lighting.

LONEN led lighting trys its best to spread and raise the awareness of the using of LED products in every family in some countries which are short of unstable electricity. LED lights has many advantages compared with other lighting source and is a great progress in human history. We hope that every family can see a bright future with our products and we are also dedicated to innovation of products in everyday life.
